Welcome to the SITREP for March 4, 2024

Before we get to the assessments, I have some news (a lot of news…)

Yes, you read the headline right: DCDR now tracks over 100 countries, well ahead of the planned March 31 deadline. 🙌

But…that’s definitely too much for the email and blog to handle so, just like last week, only the summaries are included below. Head to the app (app.dcdr.io) for the full reports.

They’re right there on the landing page…

…but not for much longer because….

Sending the emails is a fast way to get the country info to you, but it’s not very efficient when it comes to getting you the specific information you want.

So I’m moving the country info into the app. That way, you can filter things to just get info on the places you’re most interested in. In turn, that lets you quickly read up on the locations that matter to you most.

(This is not the same as the customized reports — these are still paid features — but this does mean you can prioritize your own country feed.)

And finally…

Someone asked a great question the other day, along the lines of ‘what am I supposed to do with these emails?’ That’s a fair point.

After all, a lot of folks signed up for an email about risk management, but then I started sending you emails about AI, and now it’s country risk.

So I’m going to split up the emails to make things a little easier.

If you like everything, there’s nothing you need to do.

But if you just want the risk management stuff (and I promise there are more risk and crisis articles to come), you can just subscribe to that feed. And if you’re just into the geopolitical stuff, ditto.

That way, you’ll only get the articles you’re interested in.

(I haven’t settled on an exact approach but I plan to get this done by mid-March I’ll make the process as painless for you as possible.)

Actually, there is one more thing

Information without context isn’t much use, so I’m going to be including more analysis in the SITREPs.

But not the 10,000-word deep dives; those aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Instead, I’m working on a short, sharp TL;DR type of report to get you up to speed fast. That way, the SITREPs can cover a lot more than just the stability ratings.

As a reminder, SITREPs covers the comparative stability of the select countries, comparing current events over the last ~72 hours to the country's baseline stability assessment (i.e. what's 'normal'). That way, you can put events into context and determine if you need to take action — or seize an opportunity — in the short term.
